The foundation stone for Dohat Al-Khair Residential Village was laid in Al-Jufainah IDP Camp, south of Marib city, by the Deputy Minister of Culture, Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Nehari, accompanied by the Director General of the Social Affairs and Labor Office, Abdulhakim Al-Qaisi, and the Director of the Executive Unit, Saif Mathna.
The project is funded by the Kuwaiti Society for Humanitarian Solidarity and implemented by Al-Noor Charity Association, in field partnership with The Humanitarian and Developmental Relief Coalition Foundation (FRD).
The project includes the construction of 54 reinforced housing units, each consisting of two rooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom, forming an integrated residential village. The total cost of the project is 1.4 million Saudi Riyals.
Mr. Al-Nehari expressed his pleasure in attending the inauguration, praising the project and highlighting the Yemeni people’s deep appreciation for Kuwait’s qualitative and diverse interventions in Yemen. He also extended his gratitude to the Government and people of Kuwait for their continued support, particularly in the development sector.
For his part, Mr. Al-Qaisi commended Kuwait’s humanitarian efforts and its steadfast support to Yemen during the current exceptional circumstances, noting the implementation of numerous sustainable and development-oriented humanitarian projects, in addition to emergency assistance—especially in the shelter sector.
Meanwhile, Mr. Saif Muthana emphasized that such projects contribute to reducing humanitarian needs and providing accommodation for dozens of displaced and conflict-affected families currently residing in Marib.
In the same context, Dawood Alawah, Chairman of the (FRD), affirmed that this village represents one of the most critical interventions aimed at improving displacement conditions and providing safe and adequate shelter that protects families from harsh environmental and climatic conditions.
He also expressed his sincere appreciation for the generous support of the Kuwaiti people and their continued solidarity with the Yemeni people.
